Microplastics can be found almost everywhere in the environment. There they can have adverse effects on the organisms. Recent years a lot of research has been conducted on the sources, distribution and effects of microplastic emissions. A lot of information has become available on this topic.
Therefore, KNM has organized an online webinar called “Microplastics in nature and society”. On May 27 2021, three key note speakers will give a presentation:
- Prof. Dr. Bart Koelmans (AEW-WUR): A brief history of microplastics
- Vera de Ruijter (PhD candidate AEW-WUR): Effects of microplastics on benthic macroinvertebrates
- Alice Fermont (Waternet): Plastics and more, research and development at Waternet, a water cycle company in the Netherlands.
This is one out of a series of webinars which are organized by the KNM. Check the website for other webinars and activities organized.
